# How to Send Custom Email Confirmation to the User from Elementor Form?

Want every visitor who fills in your form to get a quick “thanks, we got your message” email?

The Form widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor has an **Auto Respond Email** action that sends that email automatically.

## Before You Start

- **Edition:** **Pro** — Auto Respond Email needs The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro. The free plugin does not list it.- **Widget to enable:** Form, switched on under **The Plus Addons > Widgets**.- An **Email** field whose **Unique ID** is `email`. The default Email field already uses it.- Working email sending on your site. We recommend SMTP: see [How to set up SMTP](https://theplusaddons.com/docs/set-up-smtp-to-get-email-confirmation-securely-from-elementor-form/).

## Steps

- Add the Form widget to your page and set up your fields.- Open the Email field, go to its **Advance** tab and check that **Unique ID** is `email`.

- In **Content > Submit Actions**, add **Auto Respond Email** to **Add Action**. Keep **Email** too if you also want a copy yourself.- Open the **Auto Respond Email** section and fill in the settings below, then publish.

| Setting | What it does | Default |
| ------- | ------------ | ------- |
| Subject | The subject line of the email. Leave it filled in: an empty subject stops the action | New Form Submission |
| Message | The email body. `[all-values]` lists every field; or write your own text with field shortcodes such as `[value_id="first_name"]` | [all-values] |
| From Email | The sender address. Use an address on your own domain | no-reply@example.com when empty |
| From Name | The sender name visitors see | Empty |
| Reply-To | Where replies go when the visitor answers the email | Empty |

## How It Behaves

- The email goes to the address the visitor typed in the field with Unique ID `email`.- `[all-values]` sends every field as *field ID: value*, followed by the date, time, page URL, browser and IP address of the submission.- A field's shortcode is `[value_id="` + its **Unique ID** + `"]`. Typing a Unique ID fills the **Data Shortcode** box (field **Advance** tab) for you.- It is sent as an HTML email, at the same time as the other actions you selected.

## Limitations

- **No Email field with the ID `email`?** The auto reply goes to your site admin email instead of the visitor.- **Email Heading is currently not added to the email.** Put any heading text in **Message**.- There are no CC or BCC fields for the auto reply. Use the **Email** action for copies to your team.

## Troubleshooting

### The visitor gets no email

Check the Email field's Unique ID is `email`, then check your spam folder. Many hosts do not deliver mail sent with the default PHP mailer, so set up SMTP.

### Visitors see “There was an error in submitting the form.”

One of the selected actions failed. Make sure **Subject** is not empty, and that your site can send email.
