# How to Connect Active Campaign to an Elementor Form?

## 

- Connects ActiveCampaign to Elementor Form using The Plus Addons for Elementor's Form widget.
- Requires ActiveCampaign API Key and API URL, obtainable from the Developer settings in ActiveCampaign.
- Automatically adds users to the ActiveCampaign contact list upon form submission.

The Form widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor has an **Active Campaign** action that saves each visitor as an ActiveCampaign contact.

## Before You Start

- **Edition:** **Pro** — The Active Campaign action needs The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro. The free plugin does not list it.- **Widget to enable:** Form, switched on under **The Plus Addons > Widgets**.- An ActiveCampaign account with its **API URL** and **API Key**.- Name your fields' **Unique ID** (field **Advance** tab) exactly like this: `email` for the email address, `first_name` for the first name and `phone` for the phone number. Other fields are not sent.

## Get Your ActiveCampaign API URL and Key

Log in to ActiveCampaign, then:

- Click **Settings** at the bottom left.- Click **Developer** in the left menu.- Copy your API **URL** and **Key** from that page.

## Connect the Form Widget

- Add the Form widget to your page and set up your fields.- In **Content > Submit Actions**, add **Active Campaign** to **Add Action**.- Open the **Active Campaign** section and fill in the fields below, then publish.

| Setting | What to enter |
| ------- | ------------- |
| API Key | The Key from Settings > Developer |
| API URL | The URL from the same page, for example `https://youraccount.api-us1.com` |

## How It Behaves

- Each submission sends the email, first name and phone number to ActiveCampaign as a contact.

## Limitations

- **The contact is not added to a list or given a tag.** Organise new contacts inside ActiveCampaign.- Only the email, first name and phone number are sent.

## Troubleshooting

### Visitors see “There was an error in submitting the form.”

The service rejected the request. Re-copy the key and ID without spaces, check the Email field's Unique ID is `email`, and test again. While this error shows, a Redirect action does not run.
