Is your popup appearing on every page a visitor opens? Showing it once, and then leaving them alone, is the difference between a useful offer and an annoying one.
The Popup Builder widget in The Plus Addons for Elementor has a setting for exactly that: Show X Times per User.

Before You Start
- Edition: Pro — the Popup Builder widget is part of The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro. It does not appear in the widget panel of the free plugin.
- Widget to enable: Popup Builder, switched on under ThePlus Settings > Widgets.
How it counts
Read this first — it explains every result you will see:
- It counts page loads of pages that carry this popup, in that visitor’s browser. It is not a login-based count, and it does not reset when the browser closes.
- While the count is at or below Number of Times, the popup can appear.
- After that, the popup is hidden for Inactive Days, then the count starts again.
- It is a limit, not a trigger. The popup still needs something to open it, such as On Page Load.
Step 1: Add a trigger
Add the Popup Builder widget, set its content, and in Content > Display Options turn on the trigger you want — usually On Page Load. Set Select Option (Content > Content) to Hidden so no button or icon appears on the page — the popup opens by itself. Leave it on Call To Action or Icon if visitors should also be able to open it by clicking.
Step 2: Turn on Show X Times per User
In the same section, switch on Show X Times per User and click the pencil icon beside it.
Step 3: Fill in both fields
- Number of Times — how many page loads may show the popup. Enter 1 for once.
- Inactive Days — how long it stays hidden after that. Enter 30 to show it again after a month, or a large number such as 365 to effectively never.
Both fields are required. If Inactive Days is left empty, the limit is not applied at all and the popup shows every time.

A new visitor sees the popup on their first page. On their next page it stays hidden, and keeps hiding until 30 days have passed.

Limitations
- Per browser and device. A visitor on a new device, in a private window, or after clearing site data is counted as new.
- Page loads, not views of the popup. A page load counts even if the popup never actually opened on it — for example an exit-intent popup the visitor never triggered.
- Not a browser session. Closing the browser does not reset the count; only Inactive Days does.
- Pro only. The Popup Builder is not in the free plugin.
Troubleshooting
The popup still shows every time
Inactive Days is empty. Fill in both fields.
I cannot see the popup any more while testing
Your own browser has used up its count. Open the page in a private window, or clear this site’s data in the browser.
It never shows at all
There is no trigger. Turn on On Page Load or another display option.
