Have team members from different departments and want visitors to filter them? The Team Member Listing widget’s Category Wise Filter adds a row of clickable category buttons (plus an All button) above your Grid or Masonry layout.
This guide enables the filter and confirms it actually filters on click.
Requirement – This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor, make sure it’s installed & activated to enjoy all its powers.
Before You Start
- The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro installed and activated – Category Wise Filter is a Pro-gated control.
- Team members with a category assigned – either the repeater’s Category (For Filter) field, or a taxonomy term on your custom post type.
Steps
- Add the Team Member Listing widget with Layout set to Grid or Masonry (the filter is hidden on Carousel).
- Give each team member a category, either in the repeater’s Category field or via the custom post type’s taxonomy.
- Turn on Category Wise Filter.
- Optionally set the All Filter text, filter style and alignment.
Verified on the front end (site 1, 2026-09-27): with the repeater’s Category field set on four members split across two categories, the filter bar rendered with All/Team 1/Team 2 buttons and correctly showed only the matching members after clicking a category.
This repeater-based filter is a plain client-side toggle and worked correctly for logged-out visitors. It is a different, working code path from the AJAX Category Filter feature covered in a separate doc, which this pass found broken for logged-out visitors – see the AJAX Filter doc’s Not verified section.
