# How to Delay Popup on User Inactivity in Elementor?

##

- The Plus Addons for Elementor Popup Builder widget uses After Inactivity to open a popup after the page loads and the timer runs out, but moving the mouse or typing does not restart the timer in the current version.
- Popup Builder is part of The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro, and it does not appear in the widget panel of the free plugin; it is enabled under ThePlus Settings > Widgets.
- Inactivity MilliSecond uses milliseconds, so 1000 equals 1 second, 10000 equals 10 seconds, and 60000 equals 1 minute; the post also warns not to combine After Inactivity with On Page Load.

Would a popup that opens the instant the page loads annoy your visitors? Delaying it by a few seconds gives them time to start reading first.

The Popup Builder widget in The Plus Addons for Elementor does this with **After Inactivity**.

## Before You Start

- **Edition:** **Pro** — the Popup Builder widget is part of The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro. It does not appear in the widget panel of the free plugin.- **Widget to enable:** Popup Builder, switched on under **ThePlus Settings > Widgets**.

## What it does

The timer starts when the page loads, and the popup opens when it runs out. In the current version, moving the mouse or typing does **not** restart the timer, so it behaves as a delay after page load rather than a true idle timer.

## Step 1: Add the widget and hide its button

Add the **Popup Builder** widget and set its content. Set **Select Option** (Content > Content) to **Hidden** so no button or icon appears on the page — the popup opens by itself. Leave it on Call To Action or Icon if visitors should also be able to open it by clicking.

## Step 2: Turn on After Inactivity

Open **Content > Display Options**, switch on **After Inactivity** and click the pencil icon.

## Step 3: Enter the delay in milliseconds

**Inactivity MilliSecond** takes milliseconds: **1000 is one second**.

| Delay | Enter |
| ----- | ----- |
| 3 seconds | 3000 |
| 10 seconds | 10000 |
| 30 seconds | 30000 |
| 1 minute | 60000 |

## Settings Reference

| Setting | Where | Default |
| ------- | ----- | ------- |
| After Inactivity | Content > Display Options | Off |
| Inactivity MilliSecond | After Inactivity options | Empty |

## Limitations

- **Not reset by activity** in the current version — see above.- **Do not combine with On Page Load.** Page load opens the popup first, and when the delay runs out it opens again — even if the visitor has just closed it.- **Per page.** The timer restarts on every page the visitor opens.- **Pro only.** The Popup Builder is not in the free plugin.

## Troubleshooting

### It opens far too soon or far too late

The value is in milliseconds, not seconds. 10 means a hundredth of a second; 10000 means ten seconds.

### It never opens

Inactivity MilliSecond is empty. Enter a number, and test on the published page.
