The Elementor page builder is one of the most widely used WordPress page builders available. It is a powerful visual builder that lets you create complex web designs without writing any code. One of its most-used features is the text widget, which lets you add text and other HTML elements to any page or post in Elementor.
While the built-in Elementor text editor widget covers basic needs, the Advanced Text Block widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor gives you extended options that the default widget does not include. You get description limits, ellipsis effects, text animations, and per-device text alignment controls.
Best Used For:
- Blog listing pages where post excerpts need a consistent character or word count limit
- Portfolio pages that display project descriptions with a read-more ellipsis to keep layouts uniform
- Landing pages that combine body text with scroll-triggered animations for visual impact
Required Setup
- Elementor FREE Plugin installed & activated.
- You need to have The Plus Addons for Elementor plugin installed and activated.

How to Activate the Advanced Text Block Widget?
Go to
- The Plus Addons → Widgets
- Search the widget name and turn on the toggle.

Key features
- Description limit – Limit the description text by a number of characters or words. Use this when you want post excerpts or card descriptions to be the same length across a grid layout. Learn more about the process.
- Add ellipsis – Add an ellipsis text effect at the end of your text, even for multiline text. This is useful when you want to signal to visitors that more content is available without breaking the layout.
How to Add Content in the Text Block?
To add content, search for the Advanced Text Block widget in the Elementor widget panel and drag it onto the page.
Once the widget is on the page, you will see the following options.
Content
Note: By clicking on the Import Presets button, you can import a ready-made design and customize it as per your requirements.
Use the text editor under the Content tab to type or paste your text. The rich text editor lets you apply bold, italic, links, and other formatting directly in the Elementor editor.

From the Alignment option, align your text separately for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
From the Description Limit option, set a limit on the description text by a number of words or characters. For step-by-step setup, see how to limit the word count in the Text Block widget.
If you need the text to pull content from a custom field or dynamic source, see How to Add Dynamic Content in Elementor?
Text Animation
Enable the Enable Animation toggle to add animation to the text block. This lets you set entrance effects that trigger when the text scrolls into view, which is useful for drawing attention to key messages on a landing page. For animated text inside a heading element, see How to Add Text Animation in the Heading Title Widget?

How to Style the Text Block in Elementor?
To style the Text Block, go to the Style tab. From here you can manage the text color and typography settings.
On Scroll View Animation – This is a global extension available for all widgets in The Plus Addons for Elementor. It adds a scrolling animation as the widget enters the viewport.
