Do you want a Latest Posts section on your home page or sidebar? The Blog/Post Listing widget in The Plus Addons for Elementor shows your newest posts first without any setup.
This guide shows the two settings that matter: how many posts to show, and which ones.

Requirement – This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor, make sure it’s installed & activated to enjoy all its powers.
Before You Start
- Edition: Free — available in both The Plus Addons for Elementor (Free) and Pro.
- Widget to enable: Blog/Post Listing, switched on under ThePlus Settings > Widgets.
Step 1: Add the widget
Drag the Blog/Post Listing widget onto the page. Your most recent posts appear straight away, newest first.
Step 2: Set how many posts to show
Open Content > Content Source and set Maximum Post Display (labelled Maximum Posts Display in the free plugin). It defaults to 8. For a home page strip, three or four is typical.
Step 3: Check the order
Order By is already Date and Order is already Descending — that is what newest first means. Leave them. If someone has changed them, set them back.
Want the most recently updated posts instead? Set Order By to Modified.
Optional: narrow it down
- Select Category or Select Tags — latest posts from one topic only.
- Offset Posts — skip the newest one or two, for example when they are already featured above. See hide recent posts from the list.

Limitations
- Published posts only. Drafts and scheduled posts are not listed.
- Page caching can delay new posts. A cached page shows the list as it was when cached; clear the cache after publishing.
Troubleshooting
An older post is showing first
Check Order By is Date and Order is Descending. Also check the post’s publish date — an edited post keeps its original date.
My newest post is missing
It may be skipped by Offset Posts, left out by a category setting, or hidden by a page cache.
