Limiting the post excerpt in WordPress can make your blog pages load faster, as it reduces the amount of content that needs to be loaded. A consistent excerpt length also creates a uniform look across all posts in your blog listing.
With the Blog Listing widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor, you can limit the post excerpt by word count using the Count field in the Extra Option tab.

Best Used For:
- Blog pages where posts have excerpts of different lengths and you want a uniform card or grid layout
- News and magazine sites where excerpt length directly affects the visual balance of the listing
- Agency or portfolio sites using custom post types with auto-generated excerpts of varying length
Requirement - This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor. Make sure it is installed and activated.
To do this, add the Blog Listing widget to the page. After selecting your listing type, style, and layout, go to the Count section under the Extra Option tab.
Note: Turn on the Display Content toggle if it is turned off.
Set the desired number in the Count field. For example, enter 25 to show 25 words from each post’s excerpt in the listing.

All posts in the listing will now show excerpts trimmed to the word count you set, keeping the layout consistent regardless of each post’s original excerpt length. If you want to display featured images alongside the excerpt, see How to Show Post Featured Image in Elementor Blog Post.
If you are working with custom post types and want to display them in a grid format, see How to Create Elementor Custom Post Type Grid.
