Headings pulled from a dynamic source have a habit of running long, and a heading that wraps onto three lines stops looking like a heading.
The Heading Title widget can cut the title and the sub title down to a fixed number of words or characters, and add an ellipsis where it cut.

Requirement – This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor, make sure it’s installed & activated to enjoy all its powers.
Before You Start
- Edition: Free — the Heading Title widget is part of the free The Plus Addons for Elementor plugin.
- Widget to enable: Heading Title, under The Plus Addons > Widgets. Search for it and turn the toggle on.
- Prerequisite: a Style other than Animated Split. That style has no limit settings.
- Prerequisite: text that is actually longer than the limit, or nothing visible changes.
Steps
- Add the Heading Title widget and type your text into Heading Title and Sub Title in the Content section.
- Open the Extra Option section and turn Heading & Sub Title Limit on. Two popover controls appear, Heading Title Limit and Sub Title Limit.
- Click the pencil on Heading Title Limit to open it.
- Set Limit on to Word to count words, or leave it on Character to count characters.
- Type the number you want to keep into Heading Title Count.
- Leave Display Dots on to mark where the text was cut, or turn it off for a clean stop.
- Repeat in Sub Title Limit for the sub title. The two are independent, so you can limit one and leave the other alone.

How It Behaves
- The limit is applied when the page renders, so the full text stays in the widget — raise the number and the rest comes back.
- Character counts every character including spaces. A count of 20 on “A complete widget library” leaves “A complete widget li”.
- Word cuts at a word boundary, so the result is never a half word.
- The title limit and the sub title limit are set separately and can use different modes.
Limitations
- Display Dots adds a single ellipsis character, not three full stops. If you are matching a design that specifies “…”, they will not look identical.
- The Animated Split style has no Extra Option section, so there is no limit there.
- The limit is a hard cut at the count you give; there is no “read more” link and no way to reveal the rest.
Troubleshooting
Nothing changed after I set a count
Check that Heading & Sub Title Limit is on, that you opened the right popover, and that the text really is longer than the number you typed.
I cannot find the Extra Option section
Style is set to Animated Split. Switch to any other style.
The heading is cut in the middle of a word
Limit on is set to Character. Switch it to Word.
I want the text short but no dots
Turn Display Dots off inside the same popover.
