A dedicated category page helps shoppers browse your store by department instead of scrolling through every product.
The Dynamic Categories widget can list WooCommerce’s Product Category taxonomy directly – the same widget used for blog categories, just pointed at a different taxonomy.
Requirement – This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor, make sure it’s installed & activated to enjoy all its powers.
Before You Start
- Prerequisite: Elementor (free) installed and active.
- Edition: Dynamic Categories is a free widget – it works with just The Plus Addons for Elementor installed, no Pro licence required.
- Widget to enable: go to The Plus Addons > Widgets, search for Dynamic Categories and turn its toggle on.
- WooCommerce: only needed if you plan to list a WooCommerce taxonomy (Product Category, Brand or Tag) – the widget itself has no WooCommerce dependency.
Steps
- Add the Dynamic Categories widget to the page.
- From Taxonomies, choose Product Cat – this is WooCommerce’s own product category taxonomy, and only appears in the list once WooCommerce is active.
- Choose a Layout – Grid, Masonry, Metro or Carousel all work the same way against Product Cat as they do against blog Category.
Product-Specific Display Options
Under Extra Option, enable Display Product Count to show how many products are in each category, and Display Description to show the category’s own description text (with an optional character/word limit).
