# How to Search Posts by Title Only in Elementor?

## 

- Utilizes the Search Bar widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor to limit searches to post titles only.
- Enables users to select 'Posts' from the Source dropdown and configure search settings in the Standard Search tab.
- Restricts search functionality by activating 'Search in Title' in the Generic Filters section, enhancing result relevance.

The default WordPress-style search matches titles, content and more at once, which can surface irrelevant results when a visitor only meant to search by title.

The Search Bar widget's **Standard Search** section (shown when AJAX Search is off) exposes a **Search Type** control with Full Match and Word Match modes, plus a **Generic Filters** popover to turn off content/excerpt/tag matching entirely.

## Before You Start

- **Prerequisite:** [Elementor](https://wordpress.org/plugins/elementor/) (free) installed and active.- **Edition:** Search Bar is a **Pro** widget - it requires The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro to be installed and active.- **Widget to enable:** go to **The Plus Addons > Widgets**, search for **Search Bar** and turn its toggle on.

## Steps

Add the Search Bar widget. Leave **AJAX Search** off so the **Standard Search** section is shown.

Set **Search Type** to **Full Match** (exact keyword match) or **Word Match** (matches individual words).

Open **Generic Filters** and turn off Search in Content/Excerpt/Category/Tags so only the title is matched.
