# How to Add Alphabetical Filter for WooCommerce in Elementor?

As your store grows and the number of products increases, it can become difficult for your customers to find what they are looking for. This is where an alphabetical filter comes in handy. With an alphabetical filter, customers can browse WooCommerce products by the first letter of their name, making it easier to find what they are looking for.

With the WP Search Filters widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor, you can add an alphabetical filter for WooCommerce products in the Elementor editor.

*To check the complete feature overview documentation of The Plus Addons for Elementor WP Search Filters widget, [click here](/docs/wp-search-filters-widget-settings-overview/).*

***Requirement – This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor. Make sure it is installed and activated to enjoy all its powers.***

**Best Used For:**

- WooCommerce stores with large product catalogs where customers need to find products quickly by name- Online shops selling books, software titles, or alphabetically organized product lines- Multi-category stores where alphabetical navigation complements existing category or tag-based filters

To do this, make sure you have added some products to your WooCommerce store. Then use the WP Search Filters widget together with the Product Listing widget on the same page or template.

> *Note: Make sure you've enabled both WP Search Filters and Product Listing widgets from **The Plus Addons **→** Widgets ***

Place the widgets in your desired location on the page or template, then follow the steps.

1. In the Product Listing widget, select **Search List** from the **Product Listing Types** dropdown. Use **Search List** when you want the product display to update dynamically as visitors click alphabet letters. Other listing types do not respond to the search filter.

2. Select the appropriate style and layout for your product listing. To create a similar filter for custom post types, see [How to Create a Search Filter for Custom Posts in Elementor](https://theplusaddons.com/docs/create-search-filter-for-custom-posts-in-elementor/).

3. In the WP Search Filters widget, open the **Category** item under the **Filter Area**. This section holds the settings for each individual filter type that appears on the page.

4. From the **Filter Type** dropdown, select **WP Filter** and then select **Alphabet Filter** from the **Select Source** dropdown. **WP Filter** enables filters that work with standard WordPress and WooCommerce taxonomy data. **Alphabet Filter** automatically generates the A-Z letter buttons for navigation.

5. In the **Alphabet Type** field, **Alphabet (A-Z)** is selected by default. Select **Number (0-9)** as well if your product catalog includes items whose names begin with a number, such as "3M" or "4K Monitor".

You should now see an alphabetical filter on the page that filters WooCommerce products by their first letter. To control product visibility based on user role or other conditions, see [How to Set Dynamic Visibility Conditions for WooCommerce Products in Elementor](https://theplusaddons.com/docs/dynamic-visibility-conditions-woocommerce-products/).
