# How to use Elementor Templates in the Unfold widget?

## Before You Start

- **Edition:** **Pro** — Unfold is a Pro widget. In the free plugin it appears in the Elements panel with a lock icon, and a page that already holds an Unfold widget shows nothing of it while Pro is inactive.- **Widget to enable:** Unfold, switched on under **The Plus Addons > Widgets**.- A saved Elementor template that is **published**.

## How to Use a Template in the Unfold Widget

- Build the content as an Elementor template, save it and publish it.- Add the **Unfold** widget to your page and add a **Title** if you want one.- Set **Select Source** to **Template**.- Choose your template in the **Elementor Templates** dropdown. An **Edit Template** button appears below it.

- In **Content Options**, set **Max Height** to the part of the template visitors should see first (180 px in this example), then publish the page.

## How It Behaves

- The template is cut to Max Height with a white fade. Read More opens it to its full height and Read Less closes it again.- The button only appears when the template is taller than Max Height on that device.- Max Height can differ per device: the tablet value applies from 1024 px wide down, the mobile value from 767 px down.

## Limitations

- If the chosen template is not published, visitors see an “Unauthorized Access” notice instead of the content, and no button.- If no template is chosen, the page shows “Select Template A” with “Please select a template to display its content.”, and the Read More button is still shown.- The default button icons do not show on the page. Choose your own icons and set their size in **Style > Toggle Button > Toggle Icon Options**.
