## Setup WPML

Once the WPML Multilingual CMS and WPML String Translation plugins are installed and activated, go to the WPML setup page.

Once done, click on the **Continue** button.

On the next screen, you have to select the URL format. Once done, click on the **Continue** button.

Next, you have to add the key in the **Site key** field and then click on the **Continue** button.

Then you have to select the translation mode, you can translate everything automatically using the WPML [automatic translate](https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/) feature or you can manually translate using the WPML translation editor.

Let’s select **Translate What You Choose**.

2. Then go to the respective post type tab. For instance, we have created a page, so we'll go to the Pages tab. Then go to your page and tick the checkbox beside it.

3. After that, scroll down to the "**Content selected for translation**" section to see the estimated word count and number of pages to be translated.

4. Then, from the **Translation controls **section, you have to select how you want to translate the content from the **All languages** dropdown. Here you'll find the following options -

- **Translate automatically** - To automatically translate the content.

- **Translate myself** - To translate the content manually.

- **Assign a translator** - To assign a user for translation.

- **Assign translation service** - To assign the translation to a translation service, for this you have to activate the translation service first.

- **Duplicate** -

- **Do nothing** - It will do nothing.

### Translate Automatically

1. From the **Translation controls **section, select **Translate automatically** from the **All languages** dropdown.

You can also select this option for individual languages as well.

2. Then select the appropriate review and publish process and click on the **Translate** button.

Now the page will be automatically translated into your set languages, and you can easily switch between the languages from the browser.

### Translate Manually

1. From the **Translation controls **section, select **Translate myself** from the **All languages** dropdown.

2. Then click on the **Translate** button.

3. Once the page is ready for translation, a popup will open, then click on the Ok button.

4. After that, go to **WPML** > **Translations**.

5. Then, locate the page that you want to translate and click on the **Translate** button.

8. Once all the texts are translated, click on the **Complete Translation** button to complete the translation.
