Asking new members about your newsletter while they sign up saves them a second form, and saves you copying addresses into Mailchimp.
The MailChimp Subscribe option of the WP Login & Register widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor adds a subscribe checkbox to the registration form.

Requirement – This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor, make sure it’s installed & activated to enjoy all its powers.
Before You Start
- Edition: Pro — the WP Login & Register widget is only part of The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro. The free plugin lists it as a locked Pro widget and does not add it to Elementor.
- Widget to enable: WP Login & Register, switched on under The Plus Addons > Widgets.
- WordPress setting: Settings > General > Membership: Anyone can register must be ticked, or the register form shows a notice instead of its fields.
- A Mailchimp API key and the ID of the audience (list) to add people to.
Step 1: Save Your Mailchimp Keys
- Go to The Plus Addons > Settings and find Mailchimp in the API group.
- Click its settings icon, paste the API Key and the List ID, and save.
The API key must be copied whole, including the part after the dash (for example -us21). A key without it is ignored.
Step 2: Add the Checkbox to the Form
- Add the WP Login & Register widget and set Type to Register or Login and Register.
- Open Register Extra Options and turn on MailChimp Subscribe.
- Change the checkbox text in Register Options > MailChimp if you like.
- Publish the page.
Options

How It Behaves
- The contact is only sent to Mailchimp when the box is ticked and the account was created.
- The member’s email, first name and last name are sent.
- Without Double Opt-In, the contact is added as subscribed straight away.
Limitations
- Mailchimp errors are silent. If the key or list is wrong, the account is still created and nobody sees an error; the contact is simply missing in Mailchimp. Check your audience after a test sign-up.
- With UnCheck off, the box is ticked for everyone who does not untick it. Check the consent rules that apply to your audience.
- The widget is part of The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro only.
Troubleshooting
New members do not appear in Mailchimp
Check that the API key includes its data centre part after the dash, that the List ID belongs to that account, and that the test member left the box ticked. With Double Opt-In on, contacts appear as pending until they confirm.
