Now under the **Limit on** dropdown, you’ll find two options -

- **Character** - With this option, you can limit the description by a certain number of characters.

- **Word** - This option allows you to limit your text by word count.

In the **Count** field, you’ll have to mention a number by which you want to limit your text.

Finally, you can add an ellipsis text effect to your description by turning on the **Display Dots** option, this will add dots at the end of your text. This way you can add an ellipsis text effect even on multiline texts.

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Q: What should I do if the text limit isn't applying in Elementor?**
A: If the text limit isn't applying, ensure that you have the Advanced Text Block widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor installed and activated. This widget specifically allows you to set a limit on your text. If the Description Limit toggle is not enabled under the Content tab, the limit won't take effect. Double-check that you've set a number in the Count field for either character or word limit.

**Q: Can I use the Advanced Text Block widget to limit text for SEO purposes?**
A: Limiting text using the Advanced Text Block widget can help improve readability and focus on key messages, which is beneficial for SEO. By controlling the word or character count, you ensure that your content is concise and engaging, which can lead to better user experience. This widget allows you to set specific limits, making it easier to optimize your text for search engines.

**Q: What are the best practices for setting a word limit in the Advanced Text Block widget?**
A: When setting a word limit in the Advanced Text Block widget, consider the context of your content. Aim for a limit that maintains clarity while conveying your message effectively. A common practice is to keep descriptions under 50 words for quick readability. Also, enabling the Display Dots option adds an ellipsis effect, indicating that there is more content, which can enhance user engagement.

**Q: What happens if I set a character limit that is too low?**
A: Setting a character limit that is too low may result in important information being cut off, which can confuse users. It's crucial to strike a balance between brevity and clarity. If you find that the text is being truncated unexpectedly, consider increasing the limit to ensure that key messages are fully conveyed. The Advanced Text Block widget allows for easy adjustments to the character count.
