Are you looking to create an archive page for your custom post types in Elementor? An Elementor custom post type archive page lets you display posts grouped by custom taxonomy, giving visitors a structured, scannable view of your content.
With the Dynamic Listing widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor, you can show custom post types on a custom taxonomy archive page.
Best Used For:
- Portfolio sites with custom post types for Case Studies, displayed by industry taxonomy
- WooCommerce stores with custom product types organised into filterable category archive pages

Requirement – This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor, make sure its installed & activated to enjoy all its powers.
To do this, make sure you have created at least one custom post type and its custom taxonomy. You can use the free Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create a custom post type and custom taxonomy.
For instance, we have created a custom post type called Books and Book Authors as its custom taxonomy.
To create the custom taxonomy archive template, you can use the free Nexter Builder or you can use Elementor Pro if you are already using it.
Now once you have created the archive template, custom post type and custom taxonomy then follow the steps –
1. Add the Dynamic Listing widget to the template. This widget reads the archive query context set by the template, so it knows which post type and taxonomy term to pull posts from automatically.
2. Then select Archive Page from the Post Listing Types dropdown and select your custom post type from the Post Type dropdown. Choosing Archive Page instructs the widget to display posts matching the current archive URL rather than a manually defined query, so each taxonomy term page will automatically show only its own posts.

3. Select the appropriate style and layout from the Style and Layout sections, respectively. Choose Grid for image-heavy post types, List for text-focused content such as articles or case studies, or Masonry when post cards vary in height. Consider the number of posts per page and the content density of your post type when deciding.
Now you should be able to see posts from specific custom taxonomies on their respective archive pages.
Note: Make sure to use our archive related widgets to ensure that your content is displayed correctly.
You can fine-tune the display further using settings such as posts per page, pagination type, and post ordering, all available in the widget’s Query and Layout options.
