# How to Add Advanced Buttons in Elementor?

## Before You Start

- **Prerequisite:** [Elementor](https://wordpress.org/plugins/elementor/) (free) installed and active.- **Widget to enable:** go to **The Plus Addons > Widgets**, search for **Advanced Buttons** and turn its toggle on.

## Steps

- Add the **Advanced Buttons** widget to your page from the Elementor panel.- Under **Button Type**, choose **CTA** (the default) to build a plain call-to-action link, or **Download** for a file-download button (see the separate Download Button doc).- Pick a **Style** from the dropdown - each one is a distinct animated look.- Set the **Button Text** that appears on the button (default **Read More**).- Add a destination under **Link**, then **Update** the page.

### The button doesn't animate on hover

Confirm you are testing on the published page, not the editor preview - some of the style animations only trigger on real mouse hover, which the editor's own preview does not always reproduce reliably.
