# How to Redirect to Different Page After Elementor Countdown Ends?

Do you want to send visitors to a different page the moment your countdown ends? If you run a limited-time offer on its own landing page, leaving people on that page after the deal is over just creates confusion. Redirecting them to another page, such as your homepage or a follow-up offer, keeps the experience clean and points them to what matters next.

With the Countdown widget from The Plus Addons for Elementor, you can automatically redirect visitors to any page or URL the instant the countdown ends, without editing the page by hand.

## What It Does

This feature lets the Countdown widget send visitors to a different page once the timer reaches zero. Instead of leaving them on a page with a finished timer, the widget automatically redirects them to the URL you choose.

It works on both the Normal Countdown and the Scarcity (Evergreen) Countdown setups, so any timer on your site can redirect when it ends.

## Why It Matters

A countdown page that keeps showing an expired offer sends the wrong signal and can leave visitors stuck with nothing to do. Manually taking that page down or editing it the moment a promotion ends is not practical, especially for recurring or time-sensitive campaigns.

An automatic redirect solves that. The instant the timer ends, visitors are moved to the page you picked, whether that is your homepage, a new offer, or a waitlist. The old offer page never traps anyone.

## What You Get

- An **After Expiry Action** toggle that turns on end-of-countdown behavior.- A **Select Action** dropdown with three choices: Message, Template, and Page Redirect.- The **Page Redirect** action, which forwards visitors to another page when the timer ends.- A **Page Redirect Url** field where you enter the exact destination.

## Benefits

- **Fully automatic:** the redirect fires the moment the timer ends, with no manual edit.- **Whole-page destination:** visitors land on a completely new page, not just a changed widget area.- **Reusable:** point several timers at the same destination URL.- **Cleaner experience:** no one is left staring at a dead offer.

## Capabilities

- **Page Redirect action:** set Select Action to Page Redirect to forward visitors when the countdown ends.- **Destination URL:** enter any page URL in the Page Redirect Url field, on your site or elsewhere.- **Works on both setups:** use it with Normal Countdown or Scarcity (Evergreen) Countdown.- **Alternative actions:** the same Select Action dropdown also offers a plain Message or an in-place Template if you do not want to send visitors away.

## How It Works

While the countdown runs, the page behaves normally and shows the timer. The destination URL you entered is stored with the widget but not used yet.

When the timer reaches its end date and time, the widget sends the browser to that URL, so visitors are taken straight to the page you chose instead of staying on the expired one.

## How to Use It

Add the Countdown widget to the page and follow the steps:

- Select **Normal Countdown** from the **Countdown Setup** dropdown.- Choose your style and set the end date and time in the **Countdown Style** and **Launch Date** sections.- Open the **Special Option** section and turn on **After Expiry Action**.- Set the **Select Action** dropdown to **Page Redirect**.- In the **Page Redirect Url** field, enter the page URL where you want to send visitors.

> *Note: you can also redirect visitors on the Scarcity Countdown (Evergreen) setup.*

Setting the After Expiry Action to Page Redirect and entering the destination URL.

Prefer to show content in place instead of sending visitors away? See how to [show a custom text message after the countdown ends](https://theplusaddons.com/docs/show-custom-text-message-after-countdown-timer-ends/).

Now, once the countdown timer ends, all visitors will be redirected to the URL you specified. Watch the full walkthrough below.

## Use Cases

- **Expired flash sale:** redirect the sale page to your homepage or shop once the deal ends.- **Closed registration:** send visitors to a waitlist or "next cohort" page after signups close.- **Event ended:** forward a live-event countdown page to a replay or recap page after it starts.

## Limitations

- Page Redirect moves visitors to a whole new page. If you want to change content in place without sending anyone away, use the Message or Template action instead.- The three After Expiry Action choices (Message, Template, Page Redirect) are mutually exclusive. One Countdown widget runs one action.- The redirect needs a valid destination in the Page Redirect Url field. An empty or mistyped URL means the redirect will not work as expected.- These controls handle what happens after expiry. The countdown's own end date and time are still set in the Launch Date section.

## Troubleshooting

**The redirect does not happen after the countdown ends.** Open the **Special Option** section and confirm that **After Expiry Action** is on, **Select Action** is set to **Page Redirect**, and the **Page Redirect Url** field actually contains a URL rather than being left empty.

**Visitors land on the wrong page.** Check the value in the **Page Redirect Url** field. Paste the full, correct URL, including https, and make sure there are no typos or extra spaces.

**I do not want to send visitors away, just change what they see.** Page Redirect always loads a new page. To keep visitors where they are, set **Select Action** to **Message** for text, or **Template** to reveal a saved Elementor layout in place.

**My change is not reflecting on the live page.** This is usually caching. Regenerate the Elementor files under Elementor, Tools, Regenerate CSS & Data, then clear your site and browser cache and reload the page.
