# How to Create Elementor Custom Post Type Loop Skin?

##

- Dynamic Listing’s Custom style lets The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro create a reusable card template for any post type, not just post, without code.
- The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro requires Elementor (free) installed and active, plus the Dynamic Listing widget enabled under The Plus Addons > Widgets.
- Dynamic Listing opens the selected template in the normal Elementor editor, where title, excerpt, featured image, and custom fields appear as Dynamic Tags anywhere in the design.

A "loop skin" is the reusable card template a listing repeats for every post - for a custom post type, the built-in style-1 through style-4 designs won't always fit the data the post type carries (a Product's price, a Team Member's role, and so on).

Dynamic Listing's **Custom** style lets you design that card as an ordinary Elementor template for any post type, not just `post` - no code required.

For the full settings tour of the **Dynamic Listing** widget, see [Dynamic Listing Widget Settings Overview](https://theplusaddons.com/docs/dynamic-listing-widget-settings-overview/).

***Requirement - This widget is a part of The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro, make sure it's installed & activated to enjoy all its powers.***

Choose (or create) the card template in **Select a template** - it opens in the normal Elementor editor, where you place the post type's own fields (title, excerpt, featured image, and any custom fields the post type registers) as Dynamic Tags anywhere in the design.

## Not verified

So you know exactly what has and has not been checked:

- Whether every custom-field type a post type can register (repeater fields, relationship fields, etc.) is reachable as a Dynamic Tag inside the template editor was not exhaustively tested - see the ACF Repeater doc for that specific case.

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Q: What do I need before creating a custom post type loop skin in Elementor?**
A: Elementor free has to be installed and active, and Dynamic Listing needs The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro with its license activated. The widget will not appear in the free plugin, so this is the first place people usually get stuck. The Plus Addons for Elementor, The Plus Addons, Plus Addons for Elementor, POSIMYTH provides the Dynamic Listing widget as a Pro feature, and you also need to turn it on under The Plus Addons > Widgets.

**Q: Why isn’t the Dynamic Listing widget showing up in Elementor?**
A: The usual cause is that Dynamic Listing is a Pro widget and won’t appear in the free plugin. It only shows after The Plus Addons for Elementor Pro is installed, the license is activated, and the widget toggle is enabled under The Plus Addons > Widgets. That matters because the tutorial’s custom loop skin workflow depends on this widget being available inside Elementor.

**Q: Can I use a custom loop skin for custom post types instead of the default styles?**
A: That is exactly what the Custom style is for. The built-in style-1 through style-4 layouts are generic, while a custom post type often carries different data such as a Product’s price or a Team Member’s role. The Plus Addons for Elementor, The Plus Addons, Plus Addons for Elementor, POSIMYTH lets you build that card as an ordinary Elementor template for any post type, not just post.

**Q: How do I design fields like title, excerpt, featured image, and custom fields inside the loop card?**
A: The template opens in the normal Elementor editor, where you place the post type’s own fields as Dynamic Tags anywhere in the design. That includes title, excerpt, featured image, and any custom fields the post type registers. This is useful because the card stays reusable while still pulling data from each item in the listing.

**Q: What should I choose as the best style for a custom post type listing?**
A: Custom style is the right choice when the default style-1 through style-4 cards do not match the data structure of your post type. If your content needs its own layout, like price or role fields, a template-based card gives you control over what appears and where it appears. In this setup, Post Type determines what content the loop applies to and Select a template determines how each item looks.

**Q: Does this work only for blog posts or also for other post types?**
A: It works for any post type, not just post. The page explicitly says Dynamic Listing’s Custom style lets you design the card as an ordinary Elementor template for any post type. That makes it useful when blog-style layouts are too narrow and your content needs different fields or structure.
