# Elementor Pro Widgets: Free And Add-On Alternatives, Widget By Widget

##

- Elementor Pro adds 60+ additional widgets, and its plan table lists 50 widgets on Essential versus 82 on Advanced Solo, Advanced and Expert.
- The Plus Addons for Elementor maps 17 Elementor Pro widgets to alternatives, and the free edition includes limited versions of Countdown Timer, Flip Box, Pricing Table and Carousel Slider.
- Countdown Timer in The Plus Addons for Elementor matches Due Date and Evergreen Timer use cases, adds a dummy-number preview mode, and can show a message, show a template or redirect the visitor when the timer expires.
- Heading Animations is the free alternative to Elementor's Animated Headline, and it ships six animation styles plus prefix and postfix text around the animated words.
- Syntax Highlighter is included in the free edition and supports 35+ languages, eight or more themes, a Copy Code button and a Download Code button.

Elementor Pro adds a long list of widgets on top of the free plugin, and most of them solve a small, specific job: a countdown, a pricing table, a flip card, a table of contents. If you only need two or three of them, a full Pro plan is a lot to pay for. If you need many, you might still prefer to keep everything in one add-on. Either way, the useful question is which Elementor Pro widgets have a close alternative, and what that alternative costs you in features.

This guide goes widget by widget. For every Elementor Pro widget we could match, we name the closest alternative in The Plus Addons for Elementor, say whether it ships in the free edition, and note where the two differ. We also list the Pro widgets that have no like-for-like match, because a comparison that only shows wins is not much use. If you want the plan-level view instead, that lives in [Elementor Free vs Pro](https://theplusaddons.com/blog/elementor-free-vs-pro/) and [Elementor Pro Pricing Explained](https://theplusaddons.com/blog/elementor-pro-pricing/). This post stays on widgets.

## Which Elementor Pro Widgets Are Actually Pro

Before comparing anything, we needed a trustworthy list of what Elementor puts behind the Pro line. We used Elementor's own help article, [Elementor Benefits - Pro VS Free](https://elementor.com/help/elementor-pro-vs-free/), which was last updated on 15 September 2026 and which we re-read on 16 October 2026. Its side-by-side table marks each widget as included in Elementor Core or not, and every widget in this guide is one that table marks as missing from Core. The same article says Elementor Pro adds "60+ additional widgets", and its plan table lists 50 widgets on Essential against 82 on Advanced Solo, Advanced and Expert.

Two limits are worth knowing. First, that comparison table is not exhaustive. Newer widgets such as Loop Grid do not appear in it, so we did not guess at their tier. Second, plan tiers inside Pro differ: some widgets need the Advanced tier, others are on every paid plan. We do not repeat plan costs here because they change, and the [Elementor Pro pricing breakdown](https://theplusaddons.com/blog/elementor-pro-pricing/) covers them with dates.

On the alternative side, we checked each widget against the [Free vs Pro comparison](https://theplusaddons.com/free-vs-pro/) for The Plus Addons for Elementor and against the widget's own page, and confirmed every link below returns a live page. A widget marked Limited in the free edition exists in both editions, but the free version has fewer options. Where a widget page and the comparison page disagree, we say so.

Want to see exactly which of these alternatives ship in the free edition? Open the [Free vs Pro comparison for The Plus Addons for Elementor](https://theplusaddons.com/free-vs-pro/) first. Once you know which widgets you need, the [pricing page](https://theplusaddons.com/pricing/) shows what covers them.

## Marketing And Conversion Widgets

These are the widgets most people buy Pro for: they sit on landing pages and pricing pages and exist to push a visitor toward one action.

### Countdown

Elementor's [Countdown widget](https://elementor.com/help/countdown-widget-pro/) has a Type control with two options, Due Date and Evergreen Timer, plus a View control that switches between Block and Inline. That covers a fixed sale deadline and a per-visitor timer.

The [Countdown Timer in The Plus Addons for Elementor](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/countdown-timer/) covers the same two cases and adds a third mode that shows dummy numbers for design previews. It can also connect to a WooCommerce product page and, when the timer expires, show a message, show a template or redirect the visitor. The free edition includes a limited version of the widget, so check the free version's controls before you plan a sale around it.

![Block layout countdown timer with days, hours, minutes and seconds under a Summer Sale ends soon heading](https://theplusaddons.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/countdown-result-block.webp)The Countdown Timer in its default block layout, with each unit stacked over its label.

### Flip Box

Elementor's [Flip Box widget](https://elementor.com/help/flip-box-widget-pro/) builds cards that flip when a visitor hovers over them, with a front and a back, and a Graphic Element control that offers None, Image or Icon. It is a clean widget for a services grid.

The [Flip Box in The Plus Addons for Elementor](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/flipbox/) flips horizontally or vertically, works as a grid or a carousel, and lets you drop a button, text, an image or a saved Elementor template onto either side. The free edition has a limited version.

### Call To Action

Elementor's [Call to Action widget](https://elementor.com/help/call-to-action-widget/) combines text, buttons and images in one box and uses animation and CSS effects to draw the eye. It is on the Pro side of Elementor's comparison table.

The closest match is the [Banner widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/banner-widget/), which builds promotional banners with a title, subtitle and button. It offers Blur, Simple, Vertical and Parallax hover effects and ships with more than ten ready-made banners. It is a Pro widget, so this one is a swap between two paid options rather than a free alternative.

### Price Table

Elementor's [Price Table widget](https://elementor.com/help/price-table-pro/) lays out plans and features with layout, color and font controls.

The [Pricing Table in The Plus Addons for Elementor](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/pricing-table/) offers several layouts, unlimited feature rows and a ribbon to mark the recommended plan. It can also connect to the Switcher widget so one toggle flips every table between monthly and yearly pricing. The free edition includes a limited version.

![Two pricing tables with a Monthly and Yearly toggle above them](https://theplusaddons.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/pricing-table-monthly-yearly-switcher-demo.webp)A pricing table pair driven by a Monthly and Yearly switcher.

### Price List

Elementor's [Price List widget](https://elementor.com/help/price-list-widget-pro/) is built for catalogs and menus that include prices, such as a restaurant menu or a service list.

The [Price List widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/price-list/) does the same job with modern, simple and classic styles, and it lets you attach an image or a Lottie icon to each item. It is Pro only.

### Animated Headline

Elementor's [Animated Headline widget](https://elementor.com/help/animated-headline-pro/) rotates text or applies a highlighted animation to a headline.

The [Heading Animations widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/heading-animations/) is the free route here. It ships six animation styles, lets you add prefix and postfix text around the animated words, and can highlight a phrase with an animation. Our [Free vs Pro page](https://theplusaddons.com/free-vs-pro/) lists it as included in the free edition.

## Content And Reading Widgets

Blog posts, documentation and long landing pages lean on this group. All five widgets here are about helping a reader find and share content.

### Table Of Contents

Elementor's [Table of Contents widget](https://elementor.com/help/table-of-contents-pro/) scans the page for headings and builds a clickable list automatically, with controls over which headings it includes.

The [Table of Contents widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/table-of-contents/) supports heading tags from H1 to H6, lets you style the first level and sub-levels separately, and adds smooth scroll, a toggle and a fixed position. It is Pro only, which makes this a Pro-for-Pro swap.

### Code Highlight

Elementor's [Code Highlight widget](https://elementor.com/help/code-highlight-pro/) offers 50+ languages, line numbers, a Copy to Clipboard option and highlighted lines.

The [Syntax Highlighter](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/syntax-code-highlighter/) supports 35+ languages, eight or more themes, a Copy Code button and a Download Code button. Elementor lists more languages, so if you publish in an unusual one, compare the lists first. The Syntax Highlighter is included in the free edition.

### Blockquote

Elementor's [Blockquote widget](https://elementor.com/help/blockquote-widget-pro/) styles pull quotes and can turn a quote into a Click To Tweet link.

The [Blockquote widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/blockquote/) includes a one-click post to X option, a custom quote icon and 12 or more ready-made designs, with author details, images and icons. It is free.

### Share Buttons

Elementor's [Share Buttons widget](https://elementor.com/help/share-buttons-widget-pro/) adds social share buttons with a network dropdown and skin, shape and column controls.

The [Social Share Buttons widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/social-sharing-buttons/) supports 22+ platforms in horizontal, vertical and toggle layouts and can show follower or share counts. It is a Pro widget.

![Horizontal row of social share buttons for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Pinterest and Instagram](https://theplusaddons.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/socialsharing-result-horizontal.webp)The horizontal layout of the Social Share Buttons widget on a test page.

### Breadcrumbs

Elementor's [Breadcrumbs widget](https://elementor.com/help/breadcrumbs-widget-pro/) builds the trail automatically from your page structure and hierarchical taxonomies such as categories.

The [Breadcrumbs Bar](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/breadcrumbs-bar/) lets you switch the home, parent and current items on or off and set a custom home title and separator icon. Its widget page offers a free download, although the widget does not appear on the Free vs Pro comparison list, so confirm it in your install.

## Sliders, Social Proof And Media Widgets

This group covers carousels, reviews, animation and embeds, the widgets that make a page feel alive.

### Media Carousel, Testimonial Carousel And Slides

Elementor splits this job across three widgets. The [Media Carousel](https://elementor.com/help/media-carousel-widget-pro/) rotates photos or videos with skins and transition effects, the [Testimonial Carousel](https://elementor.com/help/testimonial-carousel-pro/) rotates customer quotes, and Slides builds full-width hero slides. Elementor also has a nested Carousel widget, but it is not in the comparison table we used, so check its tier in your own editor.

The [Carousel Slider](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/carousel-slider/) takes a different approach. Instead of a fixed widget per use case, it turns any nested Elementor content into a horizontal or vertical carousel, with responsive column controls and a center focus mode. That means testimonials, products and image slides all use one widget. The free edition includes a limited version.

![Carousel of three colored plan cards with arrows and dots](https://theplusaddons.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/carousel-result-arrows-dots.webp)One Carousel Slider turning three ordinary containers into a slider with arrows and dots.

### Reviews

Elementor's [Reviews widget](https://elementor.com/help/reviews-widget-pro/) shows a sliding carousel of reviews that you add by hand or fill from dynamic tags. Its help page describes adding items by hand or from dynamic tags, and it does not mention pulling reviews from Google or Facebook.

The [Google Business Reviews widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/google-reviews/) connects to your Google reviews, and the [Review Wall](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/reviews-wall/) merges Facebook, Google and custom reviews into one display, with a review or badge view. One caveat: the Free vs Pro comparison marks Google and Facebook reviews as Pro, while the WordPress.org listing names Facebook and Google reviews among the free features. Check the version you install before you depend on it.

### Lottie

Elementor's [Lottie widget](https://elementor.com/help/lottie-widget/) lets you upload or reference a .json animation file and adjust playback.

The [Lottiefiles Animation widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/lottiefiles-animation/) accepts a Lottie from a URL, pasted code or a JSON file and includes animation controllers for playback. It is a Pro widget.

### Hotspot

Elementor's [Hotspot widget](https://elementor.com/help/hotspot-widget-pro/) turns an image into an interactive one, with a label, link and icon for each point.

The [Hotspots widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/hotspots/) supports icon, image, text and Lottie pins, with more than 25 animation effects. It is a Pro widget.

### Facebook Embed

Elementor's [Facebook Embed widget](https://elementor.com/help/facebook-embed-widget-pro/) embeds a post, a video or a comment.

The [Facebook Embed widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/facebook-embed/) embeds posts from a profile or a Facebook Page, shows Like, Save and Share buttons and has no limit on the number of posts. It is included in the free edition.

## Login, Account And Form Widgets

### Login

Elementor's [Login widget](https://elementor.com/help/login-widget-pro/) builds a custom login page in place of the default WordPress one, with a Redirect After Login switch and a Lost Your Password link.

The [Login Form widget](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/login-form/) covers the same ground with seven ready-made designs, custom labels and placeholders, and social login. It is a Pro widget. The same Pro edition adds registration and password reset forms, which you can find on the [Registration Form](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/registration-form/) and [Password Reset Form](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/password-reset-form/) pages.

### Forms

Elementor's Forms widget needs Pro, but there is no single widget page on our side to match it against. The Plus Addons for Elementor takes two other routes: a [Form Builder](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-builder/form-builder/) that has a limited free version, and stylers that restyle forms from other plugins, such as the [Contact Form 7 Styler](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-widget/contact-form-7-styler/). If you already run a form plugin, the styler route avoids rebuilding forms at all.

## Elementor Pro Widgets With No One-To-One Match

Some Pro widgets belong to larger systems, and we could not match them to a single widget page. Here is where each one lands.

| Elementor Pro Widget Or Feature | What The Plus Addons For Elementor Offers Instead |
| ------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| Posts, Archive Posts, Portfolio | The [Blog Post listing](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-listing/blog-post/) with grid, masonry and carousel layouts. A limited version is free. See the [Blog Listing settings overview](https://theplusaddons.com/docs/blog-listing-widget-settings-overview/) for the controls. |
| Nav Menu | The [Navigation Menu](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-builder/header-builder/navigation-menu/) inside the Header Builder. A limited version is free. |
| Menu Cart and WooCommerce widgets | The [WooCommerce Builder](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-builder/woocommerce-builder/) |
| Popup Builder | The [Popup Builder](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-builder/popup-builder/) with Offcanvas. |
| Header and footer Theme Builder parts | The [Header Builder](https://theplusaddons.com/elementor-builder/header-builder/) and a Footer Builder, both Pro. |
| Progress Tracker, Author Box, Sitemap, Template, Global Widget, PayPal and Stripe buttons | No matching widget found on the Free vs Pro list. Keep these in Elementor Pro if you rely on them. |
Pro features that do not map to one widget page. Checked against the Free vs Pro list, 16 October 2026.

The last row matters. If your build leans on the Progress Tracker, whose Tracker Type control offers Horizontal and Circular, or on the PayPal and Stripe buttons, an add-on will not replace them. That is the honest edge of this comparison, and you can see how the theme-building side works in our guide to [Elementor Theme Builder Without Pro](https://theplusaddons.com/blog/elementor-theme-builder-without-pro/).

## When Elementor Pro Is Still The Better Fit

An alternative is not always the right call, and the two products are not rivals in a strict sense. The Plus Addons for Elementor states in its WordPress.org FAQ that it is compatible with both the free plugin and Elementor Pro, so many sites run both.

- **You want the Theme Builder and your widgets from one vendor.** Elementor's help center describes the Theme Builder, dynamic content and WooCommerce Builder as part of Pro. Keeping them together means one license and one support channel.

- **You depend on a widget with no match.** The table above lists them. Skip the swap for those.

- **You only need one or two widgets and already pay for Pro.** Switching has a cost in rebuild time, so the saving has to be worth it.

- **You prefer a single vendor for support.** The free edition of The Plus Addons for Elementor is supported through WordPress.org, while Pro has helpdesk support, so the split is worth weighing.

The other side is just as clear. If you do not use the Theme Builder or WooCommerce Builder, a handful of widgets may be the only reason you pay for Pro, and a Free or Limited free widget from the quick map may cover that. Our [comparison of Elementor Pro templates and free template kits](https://theplusaddons.com/blog/elementor-pro-templates-vs-free-template-kits/) follows the same logic for templates.

## How To Swap A Pro Widget Without Rebuilding The Page

Moving a widget between plugins is a manual job, so the safe approach is small and reversible.

- Open a staging copy of the page, not the live one.

- List every Pro widget the page uses. The Navigator panel in the Elementor editor shows them in order.

- For each widget, find its row in the quick map above and open the alternative's widget page to check the controls you rely on.

- Add the alternative directly under the Pro widget and copy the text, links and images across.

- Compare the two on desktop, tablet and mobile, then delete the Pro widget.

- Repeat for one widget at a time, and publish the page once all of them match.

Do the countdown last on any sales page, because a timer that resets or expires early costs real orders.

## Which Alternative Should You Start With

If you want the biggest saving for the least effort, start with the four widgets that are fully free: Heading Animations, Syntax Highlighter, Blockquote and Facebook Embed. After that, the Limited free widgets, Countdown Timer, Flip Box, Pricing Table and Carousel Slider, cover the common cases while you decide whether you need the full versions. The rest sit in the Pro edition of The Plus Addons for Elementor, so compare that on the [Free vs Pro page](https://theplusaddons.com/free-vs-pro/) and then on the [pricing page](https://theplusaddons.com/pricing/) before you commit.

Whichever route you take, keep the list of widgets with no match nearby. It tells you what Elementor Pro still does that a widget swap cannot.
